A vibrant launch of the Galaxy Flip 5G
CHALLENGE
Agency client Cheil engaged DisplayWise to build and install a custom brand activation display on behalf of their client Telstra, as part of their overarching marketing campaign promoting the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G mobile phone.
The activation required three display builds; two 4m x 4m displays and a 5m x 3m display whereby the activation would facilitate an increase in brand awareness, generate hype and drive traffic to Telstra stores during the pre-sale period of Samsung’s mobile phone. For those customers wanting to pre-order the new phone, if signing up as a Telstra customer they would be entitled to receive a bonus Samsung 43” TV.
On show for three consecutive weeks in Westfield Shopping Centre Locations, the client conceptualised a brand activation display that would showcase the new phones features through the clever use of led illuminated etchings such as a ‘butterfly’ image which was to be featured throughout the display.

RESULT
A key design feature was ensuring clear sightlines and transparency, creating an enticing attraction for passers-by. Our Industrial Design team incorporated LED lights illuminating the many illustrations chosen by the client, in particular the ‘butterfly’ image correlating the motion of a butterfly’s wings to the ‘flip’ open and close motion of the phone which was used as a ‘selfie wall’ during the activation period.
To showcase the new mobile phone, DisplayWise sourced an interactive product display screen / box. This clever interactive product display had a clear screen and moving graphics to suit the ‘bright transparent’ theme of the overall activation display.
