Professional Beauty Solutions
PBS remains 'Best in Beauty' with International Brands
After 3 long years, Professional Beauty Solutions (PBS) returned to the Beauty Expo Australia which was held at ICC Sydney. PBS are a proud distributor of 14 world-class, industry-leading professional brands that supply to over 2000 salons, spas and clinics across Australia. Due to the pandemic uncertainty at the time, the Beauty Expo had been postponed over multiple years by show organiser Reed Exhibitions. The show is the country’s largest gathering of beauty brands, suppliers and professionals who were reconnecting for the first time since 2019.
PBS engaged DisplayWise with a brief to ensure a high-quality solution was constructed for their return to the prestigious event. It was also imperative that each of their international brands were showcased individually whilst also being harmonious within the overall stand design. 8 brands were included in the initial brief which included product ranges from the Aesthetic Devices, Advanced Cosmeceutical Skincare and Inner Health & Wellness brands. Specifically, Dermalux LED, Lynton Lasers, Mesopen Pro, Bio-Therapeutic, Pollogen, Image Skincare, Fusion Mesotherapy and Bestow brands required a product showcase and/or demonstration area.

Our Industrial Designer carefully considered lighting application throughout the display incorporating lightboxes into the graphic displays as well as above and below strip lighting on the product shelves, showcase plinths, and reception counter. Design advice was also provided from DisplayWise to illuminate the stand from above with overhead flood lights to elevate each brands’ appearance and ultimately attract more visitors to the stand.
To create height and visibility across the show floor, a central PBS branded bulkhead was included in the construction. This addition gave the stand an elevated presence with each brand seamlessly incorporated under the one ‘banner’ of the PBS family of brands.
The island stand layout was open and inviting to attract visitors from all sides on the show floor. A clean and classic black and white colour palette was paired with colourful graphics to give each international brand a space for consultations and visual merchandising.
Each of the eight brands required a demonstration area and product display, so DisplayWise applied a high gloss white and traceless finish to all high-use surfaces. Finger marks are almost never seen on these finishes, so this reduced the time required for care, cleaning and maintenance.
To ensure we had developed a solution that met the demands of the bespoke PBS requirements, DisplayWise invited the client to our Sydney production facility for a test assembly meeting. This extension of service provides clients with the opportunity to see their product or project fully assembled prior to it being installed and/or delivered to site. The process allowed PBS complete visibility of the build including the physical experience of how the stand would look and feel once constructed, how much space there was within the demonstration pods and most importantly the natural visitor flow throughout the stand. DisplayWise collaborated closely with PBS to ensure each of their brands would feel comfortable in their designated space as well as ensuring they would have enough product storage and visual merchandising surface area.
The DisplayWise team communicated all aspects of the build and ensured that every detail was project managed to precision.
This collaboration with PBS and our approach to their stand design was important to ensure success for the client and each of their brands to be beautifully represented.
