IBM Think Summit

Creating campuses
CHALLENGE
The 2019 IBM Think Summit showcased the latest advances in technology at a one-day event at the Sydney International Convention Centre. For the second year, DisplayWise was tasked with creating six IBM ‘campuses’. Each space was designed around a set theme, including Smarter Business, Data & Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud & Infrastructure. One of the key challenges of the event was the tight one-day bump-in schedule.
Display Type | Event |
---|---|
Event | IBM Think Summit |
Venue | Sydney ICC |
Display Size | 100sq per campus |

SOLUTION
DisplayWise was engaged by our client, George P Johnson (GPJ) during the creative phase to help bring ideas to life. This was particularly critical in the creation of a bespoke ‘escape room’. The 100sqm campuses were all built with custom pieces, including Lego pits and curved walls. We also integrated about 60 screens into the displays, in collaboration with other event partners.
DisplayWise advised on the best materials, finishes and build methods to use. We pre-built all display elements at our Sydney production facility, where the installation was tested by our team to ensure we could assemble the display in the required timeframe.
“I worked with DisplayWise for three months, building six bespoke activation areas for our Think Summit. DisplayWise helped me to maximise space, design and creativity and ensured we didn’t exceed our budget. I felt supported throughout the whole process. The team were flexible with any last minute changes and constantly created solutions for our challenging ideas. They are the best team to partner with on any project”
Sian Garner, GPJ

RESULT
DisplayWise successfully delivered the six IBM campuses for the event, managing the short installation time and logistical challenges.
